How To Use Bottle Hunt Ohio

A practical walkthrough of every feature on the site — from tracking drops to reporting sightings.

1

Check the Drop Calendar

The Calendar page shows each weekday's store delivery counts — how many OHLQ stores receive their regular shipment that day — alongside the exclusive releases we've collected from OHLQ announcements. For the earliest official word on new drops, follow OHLQ directly. Here's what the release types mean:

  • Weekly Exclusives — arrive at stores on a set day, usually Wednesday or Thursday.
  • Single Barrel Saturdays — single-barrel picks available only at specific stores on select Saturdays.
  • Bonus Releases — surprise mid-week drops outside the weekly cycle.
  • Bottle Lotteries — you enter a drawing for a chance to buy rare bottles.

Find Your Stores

Use the Store Map to find OHLQ locations near you. Filter by region — Northeast, Southwest, Central, Northwest, or Southeast — and see community-reported delivery days for each store. Knowing your store's delivery day helps you show up when new stock arrives instead of guessing.

Browse Products

The Products page lets you search the full OHLQ catalog. Filter by category — bourbon, rye, scotch, and more — and see which products are marked as exclusive or allocated. Product pages show current pricing, plus recent in-stock info where we have it — availability checks are still an early pilot, so use them as a hint, not a guarantee.

Report What You Find

This is the heart of Bottle Hunt Ohio. When you're at a store and spot an allocated or exclusive bottle on the shelf, report it. Your sighting helps other hunters know where to look.

Just pick the store, select the product, and optionally note how many bottles you saw. A free account is required to submit so we can credit you, dedupe accidental double-taps, and let other hunters trust the data.

Set Up Email Alerts

Add bottles to your hunt list and favorite the stores you visit, then head to Account → Alerts to turn on the weekly email digest — a Sunday roundup of new releases, sightings at your favorite stores, and restocks on your watched products. It's the only email we send today; instant per-event alerts aren't sending yet. SMS alerts for Founding Supporters are on the roadmap — see the Founding Supporter page for status. Push notifications are not active yet.

Tips from Experienced Hunters

  • Delivery days matter more than release dates — bottles often sit in back rooms until they're checked in.
  • Smaller and rural stores sometimes get allocated bottles that sit longer than at busy locations.
  • Be friendly to store employees — they remember the nice people.
  • Check multiple stores; not every location gets every release.
  • Follow OHLQ on social media and sign up for the Product Pulse email list for the earliest official announcements.
