What do I actually get today?
Every account — free or Insider — gets the full product: the map, calendar, sightings feed, hunt list, store favorites, the weekly email digest, and per-event email and push alerts. Insider adds SMS text alerts (the one paid channel), a locked-in $4.99/month founding rate we will not raise on early supporters, and early access to new features. SMS is built but not sending yet (see below), so today your subscription locks in the rate and funds hosting, scrapers, and the SMS work.
When does SMS turn on?
The dispatcher, rate limits, quiet-hours handling, and verification flow are built in code — SMS is awaiting Twilio carrier registration (A2P 10DLC) and production credentials before sends can go live. It's the Insider channel: email and push stay free for everyone. When carrier registration clears, your SMS alerts switch on automatically at the locked-in rate. Not happy waiting? What is priority delivery?
Once SMS launches, the plan is for supporters to receive SMS alerts ahead of email and push for time-sensitive sightings. This is on the roadmap, not available today.
